We are dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth and development of children in a safe, loving, and engaging environment. Our goal is to provide a foundation for young hearts to grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and learn valuable life lessons from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
To ensure the safety of all children, our church requires background checks and MinistrySafe training for all volunteers working with minors.
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
Nursery
Our nursery is a place where parents can confidently leave their infants and toddlers in the care of trained volunteers. We prioritize safety, comfort, and nurturing interactions for our youngest attendees, so parents can fully engage in worship and other church activities. Our nursery team is dedicated to creating a warm and secure environment that demonstrates the truth of God’s love for them at a young age. We want to allow parents to worship with peace of mind.
Our nursery is available to children 2 years-old and younger. We have a rotation of workers in the nursery for both the Sunday school hour and worship service.
Childcare
Our childcare program for children older than 2 years provides a nurturing and engaging environment where young ones can explore and grow in their faith. This program allows parents to participate in worship and activities with peace of mind, knowing their children are in caring hands.
In our childcare area, children will have the opportunity to participate in structured play and creative activities. Our dedicated team of volunteers is committed to creating a welcoming space where every child feels valued and loved. Parents can rest assured that their children are receiving quality care and meaningful interaction that aligns with our ministry’s mission to cultivate spiritual growth. We invite families to experience our childcare program during Sunday services.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
At Chandler Southern, we offer Sunday school classes for different age groups to ensure a tailored learning experience for each child. Here’s a brief overview of each class:
Toddlers
It is important to us that even the youngest of children learn about the love of Jesus. Our toddler class (2-3 year olds) will learn from age-appropriate Bible stories, interactive play, and creative activities. Mrs. Sheryl Williams takes great care of our little ones!
Pre-K & Kindergarten
Young children have a hard time being still for long periods of time. WE RECOGNIZE THAT! In the PreK/K class, children embark on a journey of discovery through engaging stories, creative activities, and interactive play. This class introduces foundational Bible stories and principles in an age-appropriate and exciting way, helping children grasp the basics of faith. Our class for PK/K students is taught by Mrs. Paula Petty.
Grades 1-6
Currently, we have combined our 1st-3rd grade class with the 4th-6th grade class to ensure all students receive engaging and age-appropriate lessons. In this combined class, children explore the teachings of Jesus, build friendships, and grow in their faith in a fun and nurturing environment. While we are actively searching for a new teacher to lead the younger group, this temporary arrangement ensures continuity in their spiritual development.

WEDNESDAY ACTIVITIES
Wednesday Evening Children’s Classes
Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM are all about growth and exploration in our engaging children’s classes! Pastor Joel McReynolds and Ms. Taryn Taylor lead our kids with a memory verse, exposition of Scripture, games/activities, and music. Students are divided after our large group into age-differentiated small groups for further discussion.
We can’t wait to welcome your children to our Wednesday evening activities where music, learning, and fellowship come together to create moments that matter. See you there!
